Blindness

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.
For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:4-6

Thank you for your continued prayers. Praise the Lord that I've established deeper relationships with a few people. I've talked with English speakers about who Jesus Christ is and how he showed his immense love for us. I continue to pray that God would give me the words to say and that these words would not fall on hardened hearts. I am saddened and frustrated that the Evil One has such a foothold in this Muslim village. I try to bring to light the inconsistencies and contradictions of Islamic beliefs but people are blind to them. I pray that people would have the conviction and strength to seek the Truth of Jesus Christ.

I don't know how much Kenya is making the news at home, but if you're keeping up with world news, then you might be aware of the referendum on the proposed constitution of Kenya. On August 4, the country will vote on the proposed constitution. I've heard that there have been riots and protests in some of the bigger cities like Nairobi. The village that I am in isn't too involved in politics so we are pretty safe, but the constitution would mean great changes for the entire country. If you remember a few years ago, the country had an election that resulted in turmoil and violence. Please be praying for national peace. My heart's desire is that Kenya would be a country that honors God and encourages the spread of the Gospel.

Thank you for praying for my language learning. I am an eager student to everyone, including the little children who laugh at my pronunciation. I hope by the end of my time that I would be able to say a complete and coherent prayer. This week I pray that God would give me more opportunities to share His good news with people. I pray against the work of the Evil One to confuse people. May the Spirit be moving people to understand the power and authority of Jesus Christ.
