The Power of Prayer

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;
Colossians 4:2

As I read back on previous posts, I've realized how much prayer I have asked for. There are many prayers that God will answer in the near future, but there are also a few that He has already answered. I would like to share how I have seen the power of prayer as I prepare for the summer.

Thank God for growing me in this area of trust. I have been learning to have full confidence in God and willingly surrender things to Him. As I've learned to do this with the plans for the short-term mission, I'm also applying this to other areas of my life as well: grad school applications, housing, friendships. I know I have so much more to learn, and I look forward to it.

As I mentioned before, I have been able to send in a majority of the funds that I need to raise for the short-term mission. I still have to send in the last bit to AIM, but I'm amazed to see how God provided the financial means for me to go, even though I was so nervous and trying to take everything upon myself. God knows me so well that He knows what I need to learn and when I need to learn it.

I finished my last typhoid pill last week. After my little episode with Pill #3, I was a bit nervous for Pill #4. Thank you so much for your prayers! I took the last pill without any trouble at all. I am fully recovered from the incident and (hopefully) shouldn't have any issues with typhoid now.

So you can see that God is working powerfully in my life. In closing, I want to thank you so much for joining with me in prayer. I believe God hears all our prayers, whether they are silently felt by our hearts, quietly mumbled as we read through updates, or said outloud with a group. I can't say enough how much I appreciate the prayer. I can bear witness and present testimony to the awesome work that God is doing through this mission.
